I had a blast in Reno this year at the RWA National Convention. Here I am (above right) with fellow author Leah Vale.

Readers and I at the booksigning at Waldenbooks in Houston, Texas.

What an exciting year 2005 it's been! I've received tremendous support at the fabulous booksigings. What better way to recap the year than with my favorite photos from highlighted events.

In May, my first trade paperback, The Frog Prince, was well received by readers, reviewers, and booksellers. To kick off the release, my first launch Party took place in the very city the book was set in, San Francisco! It was a huge success. And, I was greeted by a surprise guest, Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco (shown above, right)!

The RWA National Convention was in Reno this year. I had an amazing time with many of my fellow authors. Every year it inspires me more and more. Next year's convention is in Atlanta. I can't wait!

I'd like to take a moment to thank allthe wonderful booksellers, librarians, readers groups and girlfriends who hosted my book talks, book signings, and discussions this past year. It's been an incredible year and I can't wait for 2006.

Happy Holidays! ~Jane

FAVORITE SURPRISE THRILL THUS FAR IN 2005
posted April 4, 2005

Launching a brand new website, seeing my first Chick lit novel start to garner buzz, and the release today of one of my favorite books, The Secretary's Seduction… is each thrilling, yes indeed. But I recently received some out-of-the-blue thrilling news from Down Under. It seems that back in January, for two weeks The Italian's Virgin Princess topped the Australian Nielsen Bookscan chart of the Top 100 Fiction sellers through Big W, Target and Kmart. This is a pretty important chart in Australia, as it tracks sales in the discount department store sector of the Australian market, their three equivalents of Walmart.

Now, as we all know, Walmarts and the like are a huge outlet for paperback book sales, so being the number one selling book is already a big thrill. But what's even more thrilling is that number two is The DaVinci Code, ah-hem. How cool is that? Not to be mean to Mr. Brown, (or Mr. Koontz or Mr. Patterson, or Mr. Crichton who were all in the top ten), but it's always a thrill to come in ahead of the big boys.

Thanks to all my Australian readers. I truly am thrilled. ~Jane

FAVORITE VALENTINE READS
posted February 14, 2005

That's right it's Valentine's Day, a big day for romance writers, romance readers, and romantics everywhere. It's a very pink holiday, all sweet and confection... and okay, full of red hot passion, too. But back to the pink. Women are drawn to pink, and it is regularly invoked ("____ is the new pink").

To celebrate my new site, Valentine's Day, and romance in general I'm honoring all pink books. A few of my favorites follow. Happy reading! ~Jane

32AA
by Michelle Cunnah
Laugh out loud fun with this one. Michelle has created a wonderful character in Emma. And lucky us, there's a sequel.

"Wicked Ways" a novella by Susanna Carr in How To Be A "Wicked" Woman
Hot hot hot, and yes, wicked. It's Brava, after all. Susanna has gone on to pen several more "wicked" books and they are seriously steamy.

The Legend
by C.J Carmichael
I am a sucker for a good series and Cooper's Corner is near and dear to me. CJ and I each penned a book in this series. Mine is The Secret, which follows The Legend, a truly warm and wonderful read.

Hot & Bothered
By Susan Andersen
Susan's books never fail to satisfy. This one starts with a murder, mixes a Marine with a young mother, and sparks do fly. Hot and bothered, indeed.

Legally Blonde
by Amanda Brown
Who didn't see this movie? Anyone? Was Elle Woods not the pinkest person any author could have conjured? Ms. Brown goes over the top and we love the ride.
